Still playing around with different styles and techniques.  The middle one was the last one i did and i think it's the most successful.

Added a page of thumbnails i did using the symmetry tool in sketchbook pro.  Pretty much what these guys were based on.

I know, I know, his legs and limbs arfe all broken and it doesn't look right.  BUT... it's spidey so it does look right.  Trying to push the anatomy and foreshortening on this late night warm up.

Batman Warm UP

Still havin' tons o' fun.  Today is the dark night.  All done in Sketchbook Pro.  Pretty happy with the way this turned out.  The highlights are a little hot but haven't really gotten the finesse down in SB Pro.

Trying something new again!

So I decided to try my hand at some compostion, environmental design, and digital painting all in fell swoop.  I'm pretty happy with the way these came out seeing as how i did them all in one night and this was my first real go at it.  

"Framed Ink" by the amazing Marcos Mateu was a huge help.  I would highly recommend buying this book. If you click the title in this post it will take you to the Amazon page.  AWESOME!

Progress!

Well I have officially burned through another Moleskin sketchbook.  And as i was going to post the last page in my latest book i found my first moleskin and thought you might want to see the progress I have made.

The top image is the first page in my first book when i decided to start taking location sketching seriously and realized what it had to offer.  This was a little shy of a year ago when i started.  The bottom image is literally the last page in my latest sketchbook which I just finished last week. 

I can see a world of difference.  In the beginning it was all about speed and making the drawing look like the person.  Now Im more focused on volume, tone, color and trying to push my designs.  Not only has it helped my technical and fundamental drawing but i have increased in speed and it really gives you a chance to explore and be creative.

So if you haven't tried it, I would highly recommend it.  And if any of you ever want to get together and sketch let me know.  I'm always down!

Off to the stress and fear of starting a new sketchbook!  This one is blue by the way and not a moleskin so it might suck.
